On my laptop (Thinkpad R50e) I have a forward and backward key, which seem to exist on many other laptops too. In Konqueror and Firefox they are automatically assigned so that I can go backward/ forward in my browsing history. This should be also possible in Dolphin. Additionally if if there is no backward history Dolphin should just automatically go back on step in the folder hierachy.
