in xmp properties by default language is afrikaans instead of french in french environment

XMP properties value do not depand f language settings from your computer (encore heureux... (:=)))

ok but by default all my photos are set to "afrikaans"

No. the comment language is "x-default". Drop down combo box and look like "x-default" must be checked from the list.

If you select comment from the list on right side, the language "x-default" must be selected on combobox.

For me there is no bug there...

ok i understand

but this manner to show parameter value is very misleading, no ? and not handy i must scan the list to see the value ! it's very rare and unusual.

This is a alternative language strings management defined by XMP. as string for each language type. You can see the list of all strings entered by user with language code relevant...
