Amarok delegates all playback to Phonon (a KDE multimedia framework), which then delegates to other libraries. Ergo, if Phonon reports that a file is not seekable, then Amarok unfortunately can't do it either. Reassigning the report to Phonon. Any news on this? We would need a bit more information: * Which phonon backend are you using? * Can you reproduce this with current KDE 4.3.3 and Amarok 2.2.0 or later? I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and the GStreamer backend is able to seek remote media. The Xine backend still cannot seek though. Thanks for the information. Changing to wish, since this is a non-implemented feature of this backend. Phonon-xine can't also seek Minitube's (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Minitube?content=111068 brilliant app IMO) streamed youtube videos. Phonon-gstreamer seeks them just fine. ping ? The xine backend is running out of maintenance and wishlist items will no longer be implemented. Therefore I am closing this bug report. Thanks anyway. |
