http://imagebin.org/53670 KDE notifications can cover an entire part of the screen if too many of them are sent in a row. Notifications should be queued so that they don't interrupt the user work flow and so that the user can properly read them. Also this behavior looks pretty ugly in my opinion.

This looks like a problem in Quassel. If a message in a channel spans multiple lines, it should collect those lines to form a single notification message.

You could report this problem to the Quassel authors.

Thinking over it I still think the messages should be put in a queque. What if many apps send notifications at the same time? Also the kopete case will be harder to solve, the can't control the speed at which people send you messages and things like that.

yes, notification queueing to behave better when spammed with notices is one of the things we'll be working on improving for 4.4.
