What I was doing when the application crashed:
While testing Playback options via Amarok 2 (which presents the System Settings -> Sound and Video Configuraton -> Device Preference -> Music setting), selecting PulseAudio (second preference after built-in ATI IXP AC97 audio) and selecting test caused the settings window to hang and forcing it to quit crashed Plasma.
