Description Dotan Cohen 2009-06-19 21:51:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.90)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Often laptop users must leave their devices unattended for "just a few seconds", for instance to order another cup of coffee. It would be nice if the user could activate an "alarm mode" in the battery monitor, which would sound an audio alarm if the unit is removed from the AC power or the lid is closed.

Of course, although these two functions are part of the battery monitor plasmoid from a user's perspective this is a completely separate function, so maybe creating a separate plasmoid for this would be best.

Expand on your use case.
You're away.. who's closing the lid?

This should be added to an alarm plasmoid. kde-apps does have one: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Alarm+Clock?content=64605

The thief.

Umm, I think this doesn't really have something to do with the battery monitor. Looks like a neat idea, though. Re-assigning to misc widgets.

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
