Description Alex Dănilă 2009-06-19 16:32:05 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

Selecting suspend/hibernate from the dropdown menu is very error prone, and when the user wants a hibernation or suspend she is very likely to get by mistake an entire shutdown.

How to reproduce:
-right click on the desktop
-select "leave" from the menu
-from the popup that appears target "Shutdown", try to get to "Suspend to RAM" and notice this is prone to mistake. This becomes a challenge with a touchpad.

This happens only if she actually realizes that there is such an option under the shutdown menu.

I don't know what's the best solution to showing the multitude of shutdown options, but this a very bad one.

I would suggest to split the leave menu:
leave: shutdown, restart, logoff
suspend: suspend, suspend to disk, suspend to both
"Lock screen" is a bonus, I don't know where to put it.
