It would be worthwhile if the Package details could display the maintainer of a certain package, in case the need arises for a user to contact the maintainer of the package.

Sounds like a nice feature however that information is generally not provided in the package details.  Each distro would need to provided this in the package metadata that is readable by packagekit.  Dont know of any distro that currently does that.  I would persue this with the PackageKit.org folks and see what they can do.
