Wouldn't it be great to have cool slideshows with animation and music in the background? As a bonus feature user could export that nice slideshow to ogv, avi, flash etc formats.

Most of this (animation and music) can already be done with the "advanced slideshow" kipi plugin. But it's true the default slideshow lacks smooth transitions.
