That could be done quite nicely as an Akonadi resource. In the meanwhile I heard that one of the KDE Telepathy developers is working on such a resource for Telepathy contacts. Depending on whether Kopete will switch to that at some point this could also solve the request Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
