This may be related or not: at some point kdelibs (or the old Libknotificationarea ) installed a cmake file in the $INSTALLDIR. This file was later removed from the SVN, but if you didn't cleaned up your installation dir first you may experience some compiling errors. I don't know if this is the case. Just ensure to update your builds and to clean your KDE trunk installation dir before reinstalling to remove old orphaned files. Thanks Please remove KDEDIR/share/apps/cmake/modules/FindLibKNotificationItem-1.cmake and run cmake again (remove CMakeCache.txt to make it redetect components).
