Description S. Burmeister 2009-06-09 15:43:32 UTC
Version: 1.0 svn (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs

If one creates queues, e.g. for RAW processing one wants to move the pictures to a separate folder than the originals or the other way around, i.e. move the originals to another folder after they have been processed.

Of course one can work around this manually yet automating the creation of the new folder and moving the files would ease the use.

I'm not yet sure about the UI but use cases are e.g.:

Move originals to a new folder, either with another name than the original folder or the same but in a different parent directory, e.g. normal-pictures/holiday2008 -> originals/holiday-2008
the user would not have to create the new album in originals but just tell digikam in which parent-folder it should create new folder with the same name as the original.

Move originals to a new sub-folder, e.g. normal-pictures/holiday2008 -> normal-pictures/holiday2008/originals.
The user would not have to select a target, since the folder originals is created automatically below the folder the queue is used on.

Move new pictures to a new folder with the same name but different parent folder, e.g. RAW-pictures/holiday2008 -> normal-pictures/holiday2008.

Same for moving to sub-folder.

The gui can only assign a target place to process target images, not original images...

until now, yes. that's why this is a wish. If there was a tool one could set those things in the pane where the tool's settings appear.
