*** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** It would be nice to make device notifier be more configurable. I like the old (KDE 3) behavior with automatic mounting USB Sticks more. I suggest to add configuration whether devices should be mounted automatically or should not. As an progress of this idea - device notifier can be configurable to automatically mount listed device types or devices. For example, I may want to mount automatically CDs and USB sticks, but not DVDs. Example 2: I want to automatically mount USB stick with volume label 'Pavel EXT2 volume' and not the device with label 'Kate's FAT disk'. Another device identifiers can be used instead of the volume label. done in 4.4. there will also be an "Automount" kcm module in systemsettings to configure automounting. |
