(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konsole
Version: 1.0.1 (KDE 2.1 Beta 2)
Severity: wishlist
Compiler: gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
OS: Linux 2.2.18 i686 (compiled sources)

konsole is certainly now a very usable xterm replacement but one thing is
IMHO missing: a settings option to toggle between BS und DEL.

Right now the only way to do this is installing an alternate keymap file
with the changed behaviour. This is particularly bothersome for xterm.keymap
because this one is compiled in! (I had no problems extracting the keymap file
from the C++ sources but this certainly isn't the case for the average KDE user.)

Replaced mj@orodruin.fido.de with null@kde.org due to bounces by reporter

Fixed in KDE 4. The default key binding list is no-longer compiled in and there is a dialog in Konsole which can be used to edit key bindings without the need to edit the files manually.
