Description Tanja Schulte 2009-06-06 14:41:42 UTC
Version: 1.2.80 with KDE 4.3 Beta 1 (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

The tooltips for files in dolphin only display information for 66 letters (when I did count right). When the file is a symlink those 66 letters are easily reached for the type ("Verknüpfung mit /home/username/.......") so that full path and filename are truncated (which diminishes the informational value).

It is good that the width of the tooltips is limited to avoid display wide tooltips like it happend in KDE3's konqueror but it shouldn't be at the expense of needed information. Wouldn't it be more useful to wrap the lines that are too long instead of truncating them? So full information is kept?
