If you move the mouse over the world clock plasmoid it shows the name of the nearest city and displays a yellow dot on the citys location.

While that works just fine for most part it goes wrong on the outer left side because then it shows the yellow dot outside of the map on the right edge of the plasmoid.

An example would be "McMurdo" (the lowest leftern city - iirc it's some ice station).

Point being that it is ok if the next city isn't on the left anymore and therefore the dot is on the right but it shouldn't happen that it shows up outside of the map since that's supposed to show 100% of the planet.

I can still confirm it in KDE 4.3.1. For me, the yellow glowing dot is always at 0°0′N/S 0°0′E/W (and in the same time the clock shows the UTC time) except when I point at Kathmandu (when the clock suddenly becomes able to show the correct local time!), or when I leave the whole plasmoid area. In this latter case my native country's capital, Budapest starts glowing, and my correct local time starts to be displayed.

So, to sum it up: it seems to me that when the mouse is over this plasmoid, only Kathmandu's local time and geographical coordinates can be displayed. I the case of any other city, UTC and 0°0′N/S 0°0′E/W will be shown. However, when the mouse is not over the plasmoid, any (or at least mine) locality can be displayed correctly. Weird, uh? Maybe some database problem.

Confirming wrong position of yellow dot, for me the dot is either displayed in Berlin or somewhere in western Africa.

Same thing with kde 4.4.5 on fedora 12 x64

Eastern cities like Aukland or wake isle  shows outside, but if you set these cities how custom timezones, yellow dots show in the correct place.

Thanks for the report. Sadly it seems to never have been solved?
The Plasma worldclock widget has been rewritten now in QML for Plasma5 (and lacking some of the old features still, especially timezones).
The old code is no longer maintained, so closing this now.

Please try the new widget and report any issues or features you would like to see (re-)implemented.
