I'm using kde 4.2.87
1. Set pannel height to very low.
2. Go into appearience settings by right-clicking on the desktop.
3. Change plasma theme.
4. Click apply.
5. See that panel is bigger.
6. Do it several times again
7. Panel gets really huge.

Are you using desktop effects? (this reminds me bug 184905, it's not the same but it could be related). Thanks

It happens with and without desktop effects. But the bug effect is same as in bug 184905. My panel is growing exactly as on that screenshot. I've just noticed that it also happens with kde 4.2.3.
