It's sort of an accidental feature, but doesn't this happen if you bring up the list (ctrl-alt-v by default) and select the top entry? (In reply to comment #1) > It's sort of an accidental feature, but doesn't this happen if you bring up the > list (ctrl-alt-v by default) and select the top entry? yes , if you go to klipper and select the top entry you will see that text is already in plain text. I am using KDE 4.5.4 - Is there a way to make the TEXT selection the default, somehow I manage to always paste a bunch of unwanted HTML, and have to delete it and pop up klipper and select the TEXT entry. George *** Bug 148373 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Can "paste special" be added to the context menu? It appears that this "feature" (clicking an entry in Klipper to remove formatting) was lost in the Plasma 5 update. Can it please be added somehow? Or, as George says, make copy+paste remove all formatting markers by default? This is a basic feature. Please add this ability, which is found in many clipboard tools. (I can confirm that the workaround described above no longer works in Plasma 5.) Yes, please not only return this feature but make a klipper configuration option to NEVER have formatted text. It's a cool idea, but given the lack of movement for so long, I think this is unlikely to be implemented unless someone submits a merge request to do it. Accordingly, I'm going to close this request so that the list of requested features better reflects work in progress or under active consideration. This doesn't mean that the idea is being vetoed, just that there aren't resources to consider implementing it absent volunteer contributions to do so--for which no formal feature request is needed. Thanks for understanding! That's too bad, I also miss a lot this very basic feature. Since it seems I'm not the only one, is there any way to bring up voting or something like that to give it more attention to devs? |
