when I create a new folder, the folder is not automatically selected. Please change the view of the directory such that the newly created folder is in the middle of the screen (or at least visible) and the folder is selected.

This is especially helpful if you have more folder in a directory than you can display on the screen

Thanks for the report, his has been fixed already in Dolphin for KDE 4.3 :-)
