Version: (using KDE 4.2.85)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Hi,

I think it would be very nice, if the level of panel transparency could be changed in the panel settings for every theme (and it would also be possible to make it opaque). Nowadays it's very hard to find a theme that doesn't use transparency. I don't know how hard this would be and if it is possible with the current theme implementation but I would really like to be able to set this.

Also, I was using Windows Vista for the first time the other day and noticed that the panel becomes opaque (or at least almost opaque) there once a window is maximized. I think this is very clever since a transparent panel tends to look out of place when the only part of the wallpaper that you can see is the part behind the panel. I think having at least an option for this behavior would greatly improve the look and feel of KDE4.

Summary:
- Add a setting for transparency level of the panel
- Make panel (more) opaque when a window is displayed maximized
