What I was doing when the application crashed:
I believe it crashes only if there are offline messages. 
The next time I try to connect it works fine, but I lose my offline messages.
This happens on a regular basis. I'll install the full debug package to get a more meaningful backtrace if required.

This remembers me bug 188042 / bug 169356 / bug 166553 , but they happen in different moments.
If you can install debug packages for kopete/kdenetwork they could be useful.

I have a new backtrace with more debugging info in it. The crash happens under the same conditions as above.

Thanks for the backtrace, the first part of it looks like bug 188042; but the situations are unrelated. I wonder if the error is inside the internals of the protocol and both reports are the same.

seems like I had the now listening plugin enabled... don't really remember when I did that but now it's disabled. I'll test it this way, maybe this is a duplicate of bug 188042 afterall...
