OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Mandriva RPMs

open okular/dolphin/amarok.see the side panel of dolphin.Or open play media in amarok or open file in okular.you will find double entry of the items/filesystem in the places zone.

Can you try with a new test user account? (just to use a clean configuration). 
Are the duplicate items exactly the same ? When you started to see this behaviour ?

In a newly created user account no such problem occurs.But I have removed .kde4 in the user after I updated to beta1.

Yes they are same.At least root,home,trash are repeated but  floppy doesn't occur doubly.
When you started to see this

I didn't remember as I thought that it is a generic problem and not to do with config.should I attach a screenshot?
