Sometimes users with set the size of a pane to 0, then disable the pane. Other times, it seems that the default size of a pane is 0, even if it is hidden by default. Then, when the user enables the pane, nothing appears on his screen. Therefore, whenever enabling a pane, it's size should be set to some positive value other than 0.

Example:
Recently I enabled Settings -> Sidebar -> "Show Resource View" however nothing happened. Apparently when the pane was enabled it's size was 0. This is terribly confusing for the user.
