Description Michal Vyskocil 2009-05-19 21:48:32 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.85)

The panel size have changed when I try to hide/unhide icons.

I used following widgets:
|kickoff|spacer|systemtray|baterry-monitor|logout|digital-clock|

When some systray icons are hidden, panel makes smaller. If I unhide them, panel stretched to the edge of screen.

The situation if icons are shown all

In this case the panel right corner and plasma dashboard icons blinks and Plasma (plus Xorg) consumes all processor time.

The situations with hidden icons

It is not possible to change size using panel settings.

that's exactly intended.
if you want the panel to stay the same size put the max and min slider in the panel controller at the same size and the panel will stay at fixed width.

Are you serious? Did you read comment #2? This is definitely a bug, because I did not be able to change panel size using normal settings. Another thing is that Plasma (plus Xorg) consumed 100% of CPU time when a system panel was unhided.
Comment 6 Marco Martin 2009-05-20 11:17:51 UTC
ok, reopening:
the fact that is not possible to resize the panel using the settings is definitely an issue

Disappears in 4.3.0 final, the Plasma dashboard icons moves correctly and a spacer works better.
