Configure plasma to have a seperate activity on the dashboard.

Now go to the dashboard and hit Alt+D,Alt+S to configure the activity. -> You get an error that this shortcut is used twice.

The shortcut works, when you are on your normal desktop.

This bug is still valid with KDE SC 4.4 beta 2.

I can not reproduce this bug in a recently built environment: KDE 4.4 SVN 1068732 | Qt 4.6.0

In both cases (normal desktop or separate activity for each desktop), the shortcut opens me the "Desktop settings" window.

Christian have you tried with a new user account on your system? Also can you post a screenshot or the exact error message if you can still reproduce it?

Sorry, I do not know how to easily change my configuration to show the error message in English and not in German.

You only get the error, when you try the shortcut from the dashboard, but not on your normal desktop. It also happens for a new user account.

Hi Christian,

I've tried again from the dashboard and don't get this error. Have you tried to follow the instructions from the popup error?

When clicking the cashew (plasma toolbox) on the desktop i can see a "shortcut settings" in the menu. Do you get this in KDE 4.4 beta 2? If yes, can you fix it there?

Changing the shortcut does not help, you get a conflict for the new shortcut.  Some further information:

I have the feeling that there is a conflict between the activity on the dashboard and on the desktop, as I can reproduce a shortcut conflict also with the shortcut for 'add widget' when being on the dashboard.

I also tested the Fedora 12 Live CD (KDE 4.3) to rule out(or lower the possibility of) a openSUSE specific patch causing the behaviour and could also reproduce it there.

It is not separate activity for each desktop. It is separate activity for dashboard.

And I can reproduce this bug on
Qt: 4.6.0

Yes it still happens with 4.5 Beta 1

Everything seems to work well in KDE 4.7, although the terminology has slightly changed betwen 4.4 and 4.7. Marking as fixed.
