Description thoosle 2009-05-16 17:00:59 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.3)
Compiler: gcc ver 4.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

after upgrading KDE from 4.2.2 to 4.2.3 when starting any app running under wine(such as Notepad) it takes as much as 25 seconds for the app to come up. Also, during this time and after the X server shows it's consuming 50% of processor resources(core 2 duo E8500 2.8GHZ) and the desktop slows way way down. And even after the app starts this condition will persist as long as two minutes from the time the app is first started. Also, if you start a wine app and then send it the kill signal the X server will still burden the processors for up to two minutes before the condition clears. I've tried removing and reinstalling wine but no change. Running Kubuntu 9.04 kernal 2.6.28-11, ATI radeon HD 4670 latest fglrx driver, latest version of wine.

The problem is KDE unrelated. Please report to Kubuntu at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/
