Description michael.goffioul 2009-05-15 17:09:52 UTC
Version: 1.11.2 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-12-generic

I just started to use kontact recently, I was using Evolution since then.
I am using an IMAP account and I noticed that kmail was significantly
slower to download/open some mails (more than 10x slower: evolution
loads a message in a fraction of a second, kmail spends several seconds)

While trying to figure out why, I enabled the full detail progress window
and noticed that kmail was processing multiple downloads in parallel
(see screenshot, up to 8 downloads). This seems to slow down the whole
message loading.

I'm not sure this is normal or not. If it is, is there any workaround?

I suspect you reported an IMAP bug that was fixed in 4.2.3 (I think). Please report if you still have this problem.
