Sentry Crash Report:

Description ggdhines 2009-05-15 16:36:08 UTC
Version:           1.2.1 (using KDE 4.2.3)
Compiler: gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

Hi, I have two copies of Dolphin open looking at the same directory. I am trying to move files in that directory into different subdirectories by selecting a file in one window of Dolphin and dragging it to the subdirectory shown in the other window and selecting "move". I can never do this more than 5 times before Dolphin crashes and often I can only do it 2 or 3 times. Below is my bracktrace.

the usual apologies if I've missed a similar bug already reported
thanks

Are you using Desktop Effects (window compositing?). There are some drag&drop related bugs for Dolphin, but they should be fixed.
Thanks
Comment 2 ggdhines 2009-05-15 21:43:54 UTC
Yes I am using compositing.
Comment 3 Dario Andres 2009-05-15 21:49:43 UTC
This could be related to bug 192270
Comment 4 Thomas Lübking 2009-05-15 22:38:06 UTC
@dario
very likely, yes: this smells like a double of #12270
(i think scaling in windows - including popups - is a fullscreen FX)

@ggdhines
can you run (both) dolphin(s) from a text shell (konsole) and see whether this line pops up
"xdndHandleBadwindow returned true"

also, please note whether you use the "scale in" effect and can reproduce the problem w/o it.
Comment 5 ggdhines 2009-05-16 04:51:41 UTC
Yes "xdndHandleBadwindow returned true" shows up but I am not using the "scale in" effect.
