Description dmoyne 2009-05-06 18:43:23 UTC
Version: 4.2.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unspecified Linux

In Kde setting it would be great to add something more consistent regarding mike setting for sound : for example something like a vu-meter to test mike input ; this idea is because after a fresh installation of jaunty + KDE 4.2.2 I could no find the reason why mike input was not detected in Audacity and in Skype ; now it is fixed but at the end of the day I do not know what exactly cured the problem.

In case of problem I suggest to add a test button to issue a consistent report to be included in KDE bug report system.

Regards.

What's "mike"... do you mean microphone?
Comment 2 dmoyne 2009-05-07 10:27:06 UTC
yes I do ; the idea behinh my wish report is that if you propose something to test output there are no reasons not to test inputs.

Where is "hardware setup"? I have KDE 4.8.4 and I only have "Device preference" and "Backend" tabs in Multimedia configuration.
Comment 9 Christoph Feck 2014-07-10 22:01:16 UTC
First, you need a newer KDE version. Additionally, make sure your distribution compiles kde-runtime with the required libcanberra and pulseaudio support.
