Have you tested it on KDE4 too? I discovered that the real problem is this: the character in the filename is some of accented german or italian chars, like "ù" or "ö", but it was displayed by ark as "??". I thought that it was my KDE that did not showed the char correctly. I installed german fonts and didn't work. Then I uncompressed it in windows with winrar and moved it back to kubuntu. The chars where correctly displayed. Then I tested to compress such files whith ark and the names where correctly shown. So I concluded that the guy that uploaded the file did not have proper fonts and generated rar files with such chars. So, the real problem is that ark does not extract filenames with "??" in them. The torrent with the rar files is: http://isohunt.com/download/38808308/complete+mozart+edition+%2845.torrent If you want to see the problem, some rar files with problems like this are: vol 15, 17, 23, 25, 26, 29. KDE3 ark won't receive any more bugfixes; if you still experience this bug in kde4 ark then let us now in this bug. |
