Description Wong CS 2009-05-04 04:45:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I work with fixed width files a lot and I often have to copy out the results of a fixed width output into Kate from Konsole. If a line consists of the string "sdad asdas dasd asdasd asdasdas dasd asdasd adsd " and I copy out that chunk in Konsole, I find that the trailing spaces have been trimmed.

This causes issues 'cos I need character-accuracy when evaluating fixed width text fields.

This may be a personal preference thing, but after considering the (probably) use cases of a terminal emulator, I thought that it shouldn't be.

In any case, is it possible to expose an option of how the copy function should work?

Thanks!

Can't reproduce this(by saving the first paragragh of the report and selecting & copying it in konsole) in KDE-4.7.0

Free free to reopen it with more detailed info , if this still happens in recent version.
