Description Sergio PR 2009-05-03 12:06:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

I think it would be useful that when you're dragging files, and you have the location bar in 'navigable mode', if you drag those files to a "directory" in the location bar, that directory should be opened.

For example, you are in /home/user/Documents and you want to move some files to /home/user/Pictures. You can select those files, drag them to the 'user' part in the navigable location bar, keep the mouse in that position for a while, and then /home/user is opened. Now you can easily drop those files to the Pictures folder.

In addition, I think that the same feature would be useful with the Places panel: you drag some files to a place in the Places panel, keep the mouse in that position for a while, then that place is opened and you can drop the files in the desired folder.

This behaviour is applied in the 'files part' of Dolphin's window (I mean, where the files are listed). You can drag some of them to a subfolder which is contained in the current folder, and after keeping the mouse over the desired subfolder it's opened and you can drop your files anywhere.

It's assigned! Thank you :D

I'm sorry about my spelling errors and I also put 'and other tabs' in the title, but that feature was implemented T_T

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719

i'd like to see this implemented and active if "Open folders during drag operations" option is selected in dolphin settings. in this case it looks much more a bug than a wish.
cheers

For the Places Panel, it's implemented in KDE 4.10: bug 242007

yes, and i'm a great user of it. but also dragging folders onto breadcrumbs to open destination folder is of real value.
great app ;)
