Description Stephan Sokolow 2009-05-03 10:05:14 UTC
Version: 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2) (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25-gentoo-r7-20080501

Cutting and pasting between tabs in the same Konqueror window can (usually but not always) freeze up both Konqueror and Plasma for 5 to 10 seconds on a normally instantaneous move. (moving within the same partition)

Does it happens on dolphin too?
Comment 2 Stephan Sokolow 2009-05-07 05:39:45 UTC
Not as far as I can tell. There are occasions when it doesn't freeze in Konuqeror, but neither tab-to-tab dragging nor pane-to-pane (split) dragging was able to trigger it on any of my tests in Dolphin.

Are you running klipper?
Comment 4 Stephan Sokolow 2009-05-07 06:06:48 UTC
Yes. Is that significant?
Comment 5 Dawit Alemayehu 2011-12-01 08:34:32 UTC
Is this still the case in KDE 4.7 or higher ? If it is, do you exhibit the problem if you close klipper ?
Comment 6 Stephan Sokolow 2011-12-01 11:34:45 UTC
I got tired of disproving the "KDE isn't slow or buggy anymore" claims around KDE 4.4. I've been on LXDE with PCManFM and Parcellite for the last year and a half or so.

I'd give it a try anyway, but my main PC died yesterday and I don't have KDE 4 on this old Celeron 2Ghz. Maybe in a few days once all the chaos of having to switch to backup hardware has died down.

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!
Comment 8 Stephan Sokolow 2018-11-10 03:39:32 UTC
Appears to have been fixed.

(I didn't notice because, by the time KDE fixed enough of the papercuts introduced in the transition from 3.5.x to 4.x, I'd grown used to PCManFM from my time with LXDE and still use it as my preferred KDE file manager.)
