This is a feature which no other terminal/file manager combo has been (as far as I know) able to nail down so far (either on Linux, Windows or OS X). There are options for a terminal panel within your file manager for all major operating systems, but none give you the ability to navigate the file system within your terminal panel. 

I.E, you can, within a terminal panel in Dolphin, "cd ~/Downloads", but the file manager window remains in your previous directory. Now your terminal panel and file manager window are out of sync. GUI navigation in the file manager window is reflected in the terminal panel, but not vice versa. 

This makes the terminal panel a bit of a joke, at least for me. I would love to be able to use Dolphin as a file management "terminal emulator", and be able to graphically play with the contents of the file system when I need too. It would combine the best of both worlds. Is this possible?

Oops! I'm so sorry! I tried searching bugs.kde.org for "dolphin terminal panel" but nothing showed up. I'll have to be more creative when thinking of keywords to search by.
