There appears to be no way to tell Gwenview to display hidden files.

Unlike Gwenview for KDE 3.5.10 , Gwenview 4.3.1 won't show hidden files.
All the viewers, editors & file managers I know have a 'show hidden' option:
this needs to be restored to Gwenview for KDE 4 .  Running on Gentoo.
