Sentry Crash Report:

Description James E. Lang 2009-04-27 03:02:20 UTC
Version:           3.2.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

Since upgrading Kubunto 8.10 to 9.04, Kate has crashed every time I have exited it. In place of a backtrace I get this verbage:

This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

This crash occurs even if I simply open Kate and exit it without even opening a file but is certainly not limited to this case. I'm concerned about the version mismatch between Kate and KDE since I was under the impression that they get released in tandem. The packet manager (Adept) identifies the installed version of Kate as version 4.2.2 but Kate identifies itself (help -> about Kate) as version 3.2.2.

Running kate --version from a command line displays

Qt: 4.5.0
KDE: 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2)
Kate: 3.2.2

Running kate from a command line and exiting from kate displays

KCrash: Application 'kate' crashing...
sock_file=/home/jelang/.kde/socket-red-rover/kdeinit4__0

I apologize if this is a duplicate but I could not find anything that I thought matched this bug.
