If you double-click on a message in kmail, a windows pops-up which is quite handy to read your mail fullscreen, but then, you're not able to go to the next message nor the previous. This funtion is missing both from the menu and the toolbar.

This feature was present in KDE3 and I've read a mail from Ingo saying there were some bugs with this functionality that would be fixed thanks to KDE4 ( http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-pim&m=112492562620253&w=2 )... But this feature has simply been removed :-(

This makes the separate reader view almost useless and thus, kmail requires a large screen in order to be usable.
