Description postdoc38 2009-04-12 22:27:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Choosing "presentation" in battery monitor widget does not disable screensaver as it used to do in kde 3.5. I could not find any way of setting different screensaver times/options for each power management profile.

This is very annoying. I have to run a script that does

qdbus org.kde.screensaver /ScreenSaver org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.SimulateUserActivity

every 120 seconds for preventing the screensaver from kicking in when I do a presentation...

I think that each profile should be able to disable screensaver in preferences. Users may create custom profile that needs this feature.

There is no longer a Presentation profile in 4.6, and applications are now able to tell the power management system to avoid managing screen powersaving.
