Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

click on kickoff button - menu appears. To close it, you need to click kickoff buton again. This very inconvenient, i think its should close after a mouse click elsewhere.
For example, QuickAccess applet acts this way

PS: the same goes to device notifier applet

hmm... a dont think its a dup - here i am saying that kickoff menu must be closed if i click a mouse elsewhere outside it, not only if i click its button.
I dont see any link to problemm with keyboard focus...

Both the problem (yours and the focus one) are caused by the very same issue.
