It's a little different here with Kmail 1.12.1/KDE 4.3.1: When I configure kmail (I also use it through kontact) to always show the tray icon and maximize the kontact window it is correctly restored maximized when I click on the tray icon. But when I after that action demaximize the window it isn't restored to normal size but a lot smaller (same width as the not maximized size I had before but the height is less, seems to be in the aspect ratio of my display 16:10). When I maximize the kontact window and demaximize it again without using the hide and show function of the tray icon the size is restored well. Still happens with Kontact 4.3.4 on Fedora 12. Forcing fullscreen from "special settings for applications" in KWin and then removing the special options workarounded the bug for me. Now it works fine. It affects all windows/applications here, not only kontact/kmail: Bug 214325 This is mostly related to unminimizing applications from system tray: it does not remeber its state (maximized or not). I remember I've seen (and continue seeing) this from time to time in Amarok too. This seems to be fixed as of : Qt: 4.6.1 KDE Development Platform: 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0) KMail: 1.13.0 |
