IMAP - load on demand
it looks like that the size reported does not include attachments 
most sizes are between 300 and 700 bytes - which is highly unlikely

I noticed it too, on 32bit system. Also, the size of the same mails are OK, if viewed via disconnected IMAP.

This is quite a serious bug.. KMail size field is misleading. Add votes..

This was solved for kde 4.2.3.
