Description Ben Cooksley 2009-04-04 14:24:28 UTC
Version:            (using Devel)
Compiler:          g++ (SUSE Linux) 4.3.2 [gcc-4_3-branch revision 141291]  Qt 4.5, from qt-copy
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Compiled sources

When an external application shows something over the Panel ( a tooltip for instance ) the Plasma panel fails to redraw itself, when using the mode "Always visible". Afterwards the desktop below is visible, as if the Panel didn't exist in that area.

Right clicking on a nearby area so that the menu covers the affected panel section will redraw it.

This is clearly a Xorg bug, I was able to write a xlib-only testcas (as I was asked for), but then nothing happend.
