Description Jonathan Callen 2009-04-01 22:32:28 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.3.3-r2 p1.1, pie-10.1.5) 4.3.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

In Konsole (SVN r947650), in all applications/shells/etc., when I press Ctrl-W, the keystroke is completely ignored. This is especially annoying in GNU nano, where that keystroke is used for "search".
Comment 1 Robert Knight 2009-04-01 23:56:02 UTC
Can't reproduce here - I use Ctrl+W all the time for moving around window sections in Vim.

Ctrl+Shift+W is used by Konsole as the default close tab shortcut. Do you have any shortcuts re-bound to Ctrl+W?
Comment 2 Jonathan Callen 2009-04-02 00:26:11 UTC
I do not have any shortcuts rebound to ^W, and have verified that this occurs when `kde4-config --localprefix`/share/apps/konsole and `kde4-config --localprefix`/share/config/konsolerc are both moved out of the way.

I have also reproduced this bug with brand-new, perfectly clean account, so it does not appear to involve my preferences.

I confirm i have to problem. It started when i switched to trunk with a new .kde. r965482.
Comment 5 Cristian Tibirna 2009-05-09 17:14:36 UTC
Ctrl-W is eaten by an inadequate mapping in khotkeys. Owner of this product, please consider marking this duplicate of bug #190412.
