Thanks for the report. Did you check the maximum preview size in the Dolphin settings? Per default it is set to 5 MB, I guess this might be the root cause. Please just increase the value to your needs. Yes, I figured out that's the maximum preview size. In this case dolphin should show a message (in a tool tip?) that preview isn't generated because file size is over the limit. Otherwise it's confusing. OK, I'll think about your idea to show an indication -> I've changed the report to WISH so that I don't forget about it :-) I have the same bug, but in my case it's actually a bug. Big folder with lots of images, but it only shows previews for maybe a tenth of them, at best. It's not because of the file size limit -- all of them are well below it. There's no correlation to either file size, file name, nor date, as far as I can tell. Doesn't seem to be affected by choice of graphics system, either. I also tried rm -rf ~/.thumbnails, to no effect (the same images were without previews as before). The preview in the information panel when hovering an image works just fine. This is a regression, as it's only started doing this relatively recently (couple of weeks?). Interestingly, as I just accidentally noticed, it depends on the size of the previews -- all of them are still shown at 160 pixels, and then progressively fewer as I raise the size to 176 and above. I'm using Qt 4.5 from qt-copy, kdelibs and kdebase r968942. Gabor, bug-report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198132 Do you use splitview by any chance (please answer in the other report, not here, because those two are separate issues) or max size of preview (I do). @Gabor: you should try a more recent KDE/Qt version. If you can still reproduce the bug please report it as a new bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 154855 *** |
