Description Wong CS 2009-03-24 03:30:57 UTC
Version: 2.0.1 (using KDE 4.2.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

How to reproduce:

1) Have 2 sets of songs (mp3s, in my case) under 2 separate albums, say "Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert Disc 1" and "Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Disc 2".
2) When the 2 sets are given different names (as above), setting any one of the songs to be displayed under Various Artists will work correctly, i.e. all the songs will appear under 1 album under "Various Artists".
3) Edit the track details for these songs and set the disc number, i.e. set all the songs to have a common album name "Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert" and set the disc number fields for the respective songs.
4) This will cause problems where if I right click and choose to display a particular song under "Various Artists", only that song will appear under the "Various Artists" section. If I were to do the same for another song, that song will appear under "Various Artists" under a different album entry. So there will be TWO albums under "Various Artists" named "Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert", each with 1 song.

Seems to be accurately reproduceable.

Some environment details:
1) Using the PPA version of Amarok 2.0.1 for Kubuntu Intrepid.
2) Unable to test 2.0.2 as it doesn't seem to have been packaged yet and I typically don't compile any of my KDE applications.
3) Most of my songs are in a portable drive (formatted with ext3) and I set Amarok to scan the mounted portable drive's directory.
