Some parts of the screen when kmail running has bad display. Attaching screen shot.

I see something similar in akregator (but not yet in kmail).
I'm not sure if this a kmail or kdelibs bug.

That is for sure not a KMail bug, but rather something from the underlying stack.

I am noticing this problem with other applications also. Amarok 2.0.2 and dolphin are also showing this problem on some portions of screen. Shall I open bug reports for these or is there a single underlying application against which I should report bug. Please help.

This is an already reported bug in kdelibs.
