I think it would be great to add something like a checkbox in Kopete that let you fix your status message, so it would work as Windows Live Messenger personal message (which is present in other MSN clients like emesene). Then it won't be changed or deleted when you change your status, it will be always there (until you change it again, of course).

Hi,

I also think that this is required.

The status message should stay the same, even if ypu restarted Kopete. So you don't need to retype it when you login again.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
