The solution is to install KDE4.2 and libical 0.43. Or.. if you don't want to update yet, you'll have to edit your calendar by hand and remove all attachments. Your calendar file is probably here: /home/your_user/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/stdX.ics Delete everything from ATTACH to right before DTSTART Backup your calendar first *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 159247 *** |
Version: (using KDE 3.5.10) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs I do not know what action actually started the crash the first time. Now the crash is reported and the below report is provided whenever I start kontact, and whenever I try to start the calender in kontact. It is impossible to access the calender or the reminder function, but mail and addresses work fine. I do not know whether the bug is specific to KDE 3... or whether it can be avoided if I try to switch to KDE 4.... Some of the resolved bug reports seem to indicate this. HOwever I would prefer to stick with KDE 3 as it is said to be more stable. I am an absolute layman and have no idea how to solve the problems myself, e.g. how to "update from trunk" or do other action as has been suggested in some resolution.
