Description davidjon 2009-03-17 13:07:51 UTC
Version: 4.1.3 (using KDE 4.2.0)
Compiler: gcc 4.3.2 20081105 Red Hat 4.3.2-7
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

The guidance-power-manager leaks X connections until no further X applications can be opened. Attempting to run any X app fails with the error: "Maximum number of clients reached".

I have a Fedora 10 system. Initially, I was running KDE 4.1.1. This bug was not present then. The bug appeared when I upgraded to KDE 4.2.0 using 'yum update'.

When the power applet is running the client count increases every 2-3 seconds until the maximum is reached. Killing the power app solves the problem.

The "guidance-power-manager" is unmaintained and has been replaced with "Powerdevil". If this issue needs to be addressed in recent KDE versions, such as 4.6.5 or 4.7.x, please add a comment, or report it to "solid/powermanagement" bugzilla product.
