I guess the pb is with session management. I did this experiment : i quit akregator, wait a bit, and start it again : it works as expected, read articles are still marked as read and doesn't appear (i use the 'only show unread article' mode).

Though when i restarted my session, i had dozens of unread articles... but i had read most of them. Of course there was new ones, ant i had to go through all of them (~250) to check if read or not, very annoying.

I dont use kontact.
